I've been to Corsica Studios a few times now and I'm always really impressed with the varied roster of bands they have playing there. From the avant-garde to atmospheric doom, Corsica really is brave in so far as their programming is concerned.

From the outside, the venue doesn't look like much at all but once you enter, you get a real feel of what they are trying to achieve. The venue has a really arty vibe, it's cosy and the stage is dotted in fairy lights. However, it's not pretentious like some venues of this calibre can be.

There is a cool outdoor area and a little cushioned room where you can chill out and chat too. The bar is right at the entrance and away from the stage which is handy when it gets busy, and it *can* get busy depending on the band. I saw Japanese band, Ruins, play there a few months back and it was rammed but totally fantastic.

I've had some great nights at Corsica and it's open quite late too, the perfect avant-garde night out!

Corsica is a really excellent venue and I've never had a bad time there. I've always gone there to attend friends' club nights like the new and wildly popular Trouble Vision, which I'm actually off to tonight - so excited, especially about the silent disco which is held out back in the outside area and plays anything from Abba to gabba!

Everyone there always looks like they want to have fun - I guess you wouldn't make the trip to Elephant and Castle if you didn't! But it's also the layout of the place that makes it so successful - there's a small bar area at the front, quieter than the rest of the club so you can chat. Then there's a large room with a stage, a small room next to it, and the outside area, which for me is the best bit. It's always bustling and a good breathing space away from the music.

The bar is also a gallery, so you check out the art as you dance.

Corsica is a friendly, unpretentious club with a cool, arty vibe that's a winner for any type of night. It also has the added bonus of being far enough away from the centre that only those who want to go there do.

Venue - Humble little venue in Elephant and Castle, not heavily signed so a bit 'off the beaten track'. No effort is made to overly decorate or maintain the club indoors - IN A GOOD WAY... it is the antithesis of pretentious and provides just the right amount of 'grungy warehouse' vibes most students are looking for on an alternative London night out. Bouncers are all LOVELY, very reasonable and pleasant staff which makes a wonderful change from most nights out in London. Nights are all very reasonably priced or even FREE for student night on a Thursday, with criminally cheap drinks too. Finally, most importantly, the music tends to be INCREDIBLE. Great 'funk your body and go crazy' tunes, I don't even know what style... they also have great DJs often playing. The only complaint I can think of is sometimes the music is too loud, and I feel like my eardrums will implode. However, they counteract this by providing FREE (multicoloured) EARBUDS at the bar - GREAT. And, besides, it's better than too quiet, right?

Yeah had a great night , friendly crowd which comes with a smallish venue not much room to get lost in ... Both the dance floors quite busy would have wished for a bit more room & a strobe light in both room but yeah the music was outstanding well done to the promoters !!!

Door staff are awful. Failures in life looking to make themselves feel like the big man. A friend and I asked politely, 'How much to get in?' whilst queuing after Fabric on Sunday morning.
The failed thug in a cheap duffle and dirty beanie said, 'Who are you with?'
They make up a price/turn you away depending on whether you're with young women, or whether actually you just want to enjoy some house music.
Not everyone is looking to pull you thick waste of space. We had to go home because of this moron's attitude.

Sound system here is mad - I personally didn’t find it too loud as some other reviews suggest. Came for a live set in November and had no real issues - does the job.

Had a great time with great bands last night. But the place was falling apart, women's and men's toilets mostly not functional, water dripping from ceiling. Sharing the smoking area with the club next door was awful. Don't mind paying for beers in a nice setting, but £5 for 330ml Estrella in this place was a robbery.

Great intimate venue. Search thorough but respectable. Security let you get on with having fun though, doesn't feel like.youre always being monitored which is nice. Can get a bit crowded but many a great night here. Had a problem with my jacket being lost in the cloakroom but the manager and everyone else was super helpful.

One of my favourite spots to go clubbing. At some points it was the best place to go out in London. The parties often feature well curated bookings mainly in house/techno.

The soundsystem has had a pretty major upgrade in recent years and it usually sounds super clear and pumping in there. It's one of the best club systems in the country.

Usually there are two rooms open, and a dystopian smoking area (which i love) situated in between. The bar stocks beavertown which can only be a good thing, and for the debauched clubber they often have parties that go on well into sunday. If the club is at capacity it can be very uncomfortable and difficult to move around (be warned) but this usually settles around 3-4am when the crowd thins.

The team working there are very professional - everyone from the club managers and security to the bar staff. It really has a positive effect on the experience and i never had any problems in the dozens/hundred times i've visited.

I spent a big chunk of life in this place and it almost feels like another home. Long live corsica!

Kinda laid back clubbing place. There's no real hard techno it seems, but the scene is nice and the place is cozy overall, so you won't regret yr visit.

Small but still has the south London flavour, which according to your type can be an excellent thing or a nightmare. You are warned.

During trip to London I was here two times. I didn't regret it at all. The underground vibes this place has is off the roof. I was thoroughly astonished by the sound system as well. Worth to hop in for the night if you visit the city!

Awful music and scary place . I asked for water and they kept glasses filled with water on the side of the bar. I took one and lost my memory after drinking it . Lucky I made it home safe . Be aware someone spikes drinks there as everyone high on drugs . I couldn’t enjoy the music clearly people get high to dance to it !! Pricey entry £20 & pricey drinks . Avoid the place and don’t waste your time . Clearly staff left good feedback so it’s so obvious!

Music is too loud so prepare for ears damage if you don’t have the ear plugs on !!

Best small venue in London. Excellent sound system in both rooms, nice smoking area. The bar gets a little crowded at times but sometimes they set a bar in the smoking area which is usually quick.

Decent club. Mostly full of uni students, so can ruin the vibe for older crowd. Sound system is loud but not fine tuned. Drinks are cheaper than other large clubs in London. Toilets are a bit messy and smell bad

Staff here are beyond Incredible. Too many bouncers at clubs dressed like DJ Stingray and ready for deployment in Verdansk. Not Corsica.
I was enjoying myself perhaps too much at Corsica. Other bouncers/staff would ride the power trip and kick me out. Not Stacey, Liam or the rest of the team. They took me to a side room, gave me some water, and at least let me prove myself in the Gulag rather than straight eviction. I rallied myself (especially thanks to the commitment and support of Stacey omg what a turboBABE), and was allowed back to some sweet skanking with my homeslices.
God bless you Corsica. Amazing system, staff and attitude towards dance music. Delightful clubbing experience!

Went here for a gig a couple of weeks back. I've been to a lot of gig venues across London and this one was certainly unique. I loved the feel of the venue as a whole, but there were little things that made me question it.
I went to what could have been considered an alternative show, which meant that everyone there wanted to created mosh pits and dance. It was a sold out show and with everyone in the room - it was just incredibly dangerous! I've been to plenty of shows where mosh pits are a given, but with the amount of room in there and the overcapacity it's simply a danger to everyone. It would benefit from lowering the capacity of the venue as it simple cannot hold that many people when dealing with a sold out show. It's insane.
The toilets were a bit run down, could do with an update. The bar staff were nice and friendly!

Description

Is Corsica Studios the best small club in London? Probably. It’s a big claim, especially in a city packed with incredible, intimate spaces, but this club, hidden beneath the railway arches in Elephant & Castle, is a special place. There are a few key ingredients for any truly great club: relatively cheap tickets, superb sound, consistently brilliant programming and well-thought out dancefloors. Corsica Studios puts a big fat tick in each of those boxes. It started life as a nomadic party in the late 90s, before finding a permanent home in SE17 in 2002. Since then, its reputation has spread, meaning it is now the place in London to visit for the discerning dance music heads — it’s where your favourite DJ goes to watch their favourite DJ. There are two rooms in the club, a larger main space with a raised DJ platform and a bar at the back, with a smaller room on the other side of the building. That second room should never be an afterthought, though — some of the best nights can be had dancing in there.
