I love, love this pub! It's in the Temple Bar neighborhood, but it's just a bit off the main street. For me, this was what I expected from an Irish pub. It's dark, with lots of heavy wood. The decor is completely eclectic, with lots of random things sitting around on the shelves, and quotes on the walls. All the seats seem like they're tucked into their own little corners or niches of the pub. The food is good, and the service is super friendly. Please go here, the next time you're in Dublin!

My wife and I stopped in Bad Bob's for a quick lunch while exploring downtown Dublin. Attractive from the outside, the pub is warm and inviting on the inside. My wife had shrimp and I had a chicken salad - both were very good but the chicken salad was one off the best I've had anywhere. Our server Jess was delightful and we would not hesitate to return!

We heard Dublin was very expensive for drinks but this place had a great menu for mocktails and cocktails, very good value. The Guinness was fab too and cheaper compared to other bars. The live music was brilliant, very enjoyable and lovely atmosphere. The male staff were lovely, each very attentive and polite. I did find a couple of the ladies a little abrupt but it didn't ruin our evening.

With a name like Bad Bob's, what can go wrong.
In this case, nothing.
Deciding not to attempt the Temple Bar, we chose this establishment because it looked interesting from the outside. It is a relatively traditional Irish pub.
This was a good choice as the beers were cold, the food was tasty and the music was perfect. The decor allows you to look around and find lots of unusual paraphernalia.
Our waitress was very efficient and always seemed ready to serve us.
The men's bathroom is downstairs and quite a trek through maze like hallways. There is even a lift if you have trouble negotiating stairs when drunk or sober.
When we were there, there was a stag party in full swing and the Guinesses were flowing freely.
Definitely worth a visit if you in Dublin and don't know where to eat.

Night time here is suuuuuuper busy and packed. We came here on a bar crawl and the drink prices were insane. The music was super loud and every table was taken. I would definitely come here on a Friday night if you have been deprived of a little bit of culture, i.e. hip hop. My friend and I were shocked to hear something that wasn't cringey pop, a live band, or 80s music and when we did finally hear what we wanted, people seemed really out of it and not interested. Of course we lost OUR minds, but as everyone tried to shuffle we slowly realized that Dublin wasn't ready for hip hop...at least not here...

Plus, don't even get me started on how it took THREE Jagerbombs to actually feel a BIT buzzed, you pay a lot to basically get a squirt of alcohol....

Nice atmosphere
Popped in for a quick drink. Clean. Friendly. Expensive but there was live music so it was worth paying a bit extra.

Overpriced, rude staff and terrible service
I went here with few friends as we wanted to have few drinks. The pub was disturbingly smelly and almost empty, and still we had to wait more than 20 minutes to have a beer. The staff was incredibly rude and disorganised. waiters kept asking what we wanted for then disappear.
We also had an Irish coffee which costed 7,5€.
Don't go there!

Excellent Party Venue
I recently had my 21st birthday party in Bad Bobs and the whole night was a huge success. I was given the entire third floor for a very reasonable price and the staff on the night were excellent. At one point I was worried about other members of the public up onto the floor but as soon as I said it to a member of staff, the problem was sorted and extra members of security were placed on the entrance. The venue was ideal for both my friends and the "older" members of my family who had a ball. If you're looking for a stress free night for your 21st, Bad Bobs is the place to go!!

creators of Irish coffee (although they didn't come up with the name, apparently!). a must try when in the area! would have missed the experience if our walking tour hadn't stopped here and given us this bit of history. my wife is a bigger fan of the brew, but we both enjoyed our drink, the way it was designed and meant to be!

The most fun bar I visited while in Dublin. There was a good mix of tourists and locals on a Friday night, and the music was top notch. People were dancing, drinks reasonably priced, and everyone was happy. Truly an amazing bar.

Dublin is unique and legendary. Especially on temple Street.  But if you want to keep max spirit without drinks price scam system - Bad Bob's is your place. Place is just breathtaking quintessence of Irish bar, with best drinks, food and MUSIC!. staff is trully legendary. Wanna feel true irish hospitality - go to Bob's!

Nice pub with live music. Turns into a nightclub later at night. It's really changed from what it used to be, but for the better in my opinion. You really get that authentic pub feeling inside, especially on the ground level.

Had the best time, vibe & drinks here on our last night in Dublin! I still have no clue who the live performer was when I visited but he was exceptional and his voice was beautiful!

We were looking for some good live music to sink a few pints to and stumbled across this place hearing the music from outside, when we got in the 1guy on the guitar was absolutely amazing banging out great music in his own awesome style mashing together well know classics with people dancing and singing along.
Drinks were reasonable and service good. Didn't think we'd top the temple bar but this actually did...Just!.. would love to know the musicians name that played yesterday.

Description

A Victorian House fitted out with five vibrant floors, Bad Bobs is your one-stop-shop for eating, drinking and partying on Essex Street East.

The Ground Floor plays host to the Snug Bar, where guests tuck into ‘build-your-own’ burgers and enjoy their first drink of the evening. With a capacity of 400 and live acoustic sessions each day, the buoyant atmosphere sets the tone for what is to follow upstairs.

Bad Bobs’ nightclub area comes spread across the first and second floors. It’s here that you’ll find well-heeled revelers unwinding with classic cocktails (€6), with more live music and DJs sets to look forward to later in the evening. With a thorough and diverse spirit menu, Bad Bobs is definitely a haven for the whiskey aficionado.

The venue also boasts a plush VIP lounge area, as well as a large rooftop terrace for those looking to chill out in open-aired surrounds, and the venue’s late licence (until 2.30am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday) offers a fun-loving, unpretentious vibe for those looking to party long and hard.
