I went there on a Saturday night with other 6 friends. All girls!

We've signed up before on the online guest list so we pay only 5 pounds at the entrance. If you want to go there without guest list you pay 10£.

I stayed there dancing from 10 pm until almost 3 am. Few pros and cons below:

PROS
- nice music, good selection of hip hop, dance, 80s and 90s.
- not so crowdy place, we had our space for a good dance,
- cheap spirits (5pounds gin & tonic or 9 for a double)

CONS
- spirits were quite light (I think they put water inside their vodka bottles as my vodka lemonade tasted like lemonade only!)
- first DJ wasn't really good mixing songs
- we were all 30s, this place is almost full of 20, mid 20s people.

Overall a great night out! will definitely come back :)

This place was a blast! I didn't realize it turned into a full on club, so when security took my sealed water (although I later found out they let my friend keep hers) and told me I had to check my bag, I was not a happy camper.

I came for the Love Actually screening.  When I walked in I was welcomed with a shot and before I could finish, security told me to get out of the way. It was five seconds!

There was one pound popcorn along with mulled wine and other drinks.  Upstairs, they were promoting Russian Standard vodka with great product placement.  I didn't even realize there were other liquor options until later.

The place was decked out with candy canes, tinsel, a Christmas tree, "fireplace", and stockings.  There were several times throughout the night when confetti came down from above. That's always a blast.

On top of that, it was more than a movie, there was an emcee, live music, and a costume contest!

After the movie, the place turned into a dance club, playing some great 90's and 00's music. The DJ was dressed like Santa, and they even had live dancers who were very entertaining.

The bathrooms were generally clean, especially for a nightclub, and had sufficient paper.

The drinks are not cheap, but I got a movie, live music, DJ, dancers, and confetti showers for only 3.50 GBP. Can't complain about that!

Very cool venue. Did this place used to be a theatre? It almost looks like it could've been with the circle and upper circle. It certainly seems very 'grand' and a great place to party. There's a good sized dance floor area with plenty of places to hang around the sides. A reasonable sized bar too. I went to The Clapham Grand for an event rather than as a regular clubber so I can't say what it'd be like on a regular night but everyone was certainly enjoying themselves when I was there. There was live music when I was there which was excellent. I hear it's recently undergone refurbishment and they really seem to have done a great job with it. It's a really lovely venue with lots of potential.

This is the theatre where Marie Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin once appeared. You get the impression that not a lot has been invested in the theatre since then. It’s got so much potential and is a beautiful building. There’s a lot that could be done to make this a venue for today. There aren’t enough toilets and the bar staff work at their own pace. It’s a wonderfully atmospheric, but needs some TLC.

I love the themed nights they put on at the grand, they are always so much fun. However last night for Jurassic Park night , the doors opened 20 minutes late, and as we were getting the last train home , those 20 minutes were precious to us. Need better planning if they’re going to do two events on the same night. Also ‘jules’ the female bouncer on the door is one of rudest people I have ever meet. Just because we’re going into a club and drinking, doesn’t mean we shoood be spoken to like sh*t!!! The other bouncers aren’t like that, the guy with the beard was doing his job properly , but also lovely !

I went to see Vintage Trouble at the Grand on 20 March. I found the staff helpful and friendly - one of the bouncers showed me to a really good spot on the balcony to watch the show. The acoustics are great, especially with a stripped down, lively sound like VT. The only gripe I had was they charge me £5.00 for a can of Guinness. Really

Visited on a Reggaeton night. Lots of people. The tall black guy with lo g hair on the bar was polite, helpful and professional. Usual club prices of drinks. Security guard at inside areas could get more professional as one of them was wilding out and joking on the customers behind their backs. Cloakroom team is unique. Brunette lady was simply the best person I've seen in a club!

Attended the Elf Sing-a-long Movie night. Very enjoyable with lots of christmas cheer including a photo booth and glitter station. The snacks and drinks were reasonably priced (£2 unlimited popcorn!) and Christmas themed. There was a brief intermission during the movie that included festive games. There were also multiple confetti cannons and a balloon drop! Recommend arriving early to secure a lower level seat. There are seats in the balcony, however the screen is partially obstructed due to the safety railings.

This place has changed considerably since I was last here and all in a good way. I went to see Ghostbusters original film followed by the Halloween party. It was clear organisers put plenty of thought and work into that evening with costumes, professional dancers, face painting, photo section and a fun host. Door staff and all staff were polite and friendly. The place was buzzing a great atmosphere. Well done Clapham grand, my opinion has completely changed

The female bouncer clearly only took the job on to yell at people and in some cases get physical when it honestly isn't necessary. The whole point of a bouncer is to ensure the safety of customers (the people who keep this well below average venue open) and prevent any incidents, this woman does the opposite of these things.
Just a straight up thug who abuses their position. Avoid.

Venue in fantastic location with necessary facilities. There is upper level & small private balconies, washroom facilities and good levels of proffesional security guards. Impressive chandeliers!

Nice venue and friendly staff but the price at the bar was daylight robbery £10 for a G&T and a budweiser, never drinking there again.

A body search is pretty standard to get into any club, and I can look over the fact security try to intimidate customers with a police officer watching over you with his blingy SID badge on show as they tell every customer to remove their shoes and go through their body scanners. What I do find unnerving is that should anyone have any difficulty relieving themselves in the bathroom, should you take any longer than they might expect, that they pull you aside and request you go into a small white room with them so they can conduct a second, more thorough full body search, which their highly strung manager smugly declares "is part of their policy you agreed to in their Terms and Conditions" when you bought the ticket (cash only, by the way). I would have walked out at that point, but it was too satisfying to let them search and find nothing on me. Egg is rotten. I will not be back.

I see bad reviews about the staff but both times I've been they were all really nice. Banging music, great sound, excellent bar staff. Great atmosphere - gay night though. £10 card minimum spend in this day and age though? Security searches were a bit disorganised and nobody seemed to know what they were doing but they wanted to be firm about it anyway. Nothing awful though. And toilets with no soap or working hand dryers. Thats plain silly. Gross.

No complaints about the staff... But the club has lost its, way.. On the night we went the downstairs room and the loft were the only rooms open.. The loft seemed to be playing reggae ton painfully loud...so we couldn't stay in there...The downstairs had house.. Pretty average... There was no where to sit except the so called roped off VIP area which was empty..... We went there to have some drinks.. and just chill after a long work week.. Which is something you could do before... Sit and chat to people... I won't be going back...
