Came a 2nd time during a later visit to Berlin, with the intent of checking it out on Sunday.

We actually arrived early at 8am, and got rejected. Then showed up again around 3pm (wearing the exact same clothes) and made it in. So my recommendation is to come later for easier entry as the club is probably a little emptier.

It still had a fair amount of people as we entered and the crowd seemed to be more locals than Saturday night. It got busier later in the night.

Tips:
-ice cream bar also sells smoothies, sandwiches and coffee. Smoothie was quite good
-if you do go on Saturday night, the stamp will cover your entrance till Monday morning. So you can go and rest up on Sunday, and then return later in the evening
-we left Sunday dinner to grab dinner and some fresh air at a nearby restaurant
-Sunday has more locals. Saturday night is quite touristy and has a long line
-this time I wore hoodie, black tank top and dark shorts (in pretty cold weather)

Been there many times, and been to other clubs in Berlin too. Berghain is very special to me with it's one-of-a-kind dark vibe and always an amazing music and people losing themselves in their very synchronized, rough dance movement specific to Berghain. I'm very much into their unique music & quality sound which gets me to more and more think about not wasting my time in other places and just going only to Berghain - quality over quantity.

When you get in, you realize exactly why they have such a strict door policy, and you appreciate it, lots, believe me! - this club gets it's unique vibe mostly because of it's people (and the music - did I mention that already?) and they are like no other. Compared to KitKat where you see a lot of young (and older) wannabes, in Berghain, you see mostly a bit older people who literally belong there and don't act out or try to be someone else.

And now to all those people whining in here about "not getting in without any reason". There's a perfect reason for this and the securities are well trained to feel your vibe, You coming to whine in this forum after not getting into Berghain shows very well you are not part of the right crowd and once again, let's appreciate the hard job done right by the guys at the door for not letting you = the wrong people in. Berghain is not the place for whiners.

Also, for the people who are lucky and get in - please appreciate the vibe and read forums before you come about what to wear inside and don't hold back on black. Cause if you manage to get in with blue jeans and T-shirt, you just killed a piece of this club. So please respect the place and regulars trying to build up the unique vibe with what they are wearing and dress accordingly. And less is more - don't be afraid to wear less, no one cares and you can feel the unique freedom.

Following a few rules of common sense and civilization, it is not so difficult to enter the Berghain and live a unique experience. This year, I went' back to Berlin and I couldn't resist to go there for the second time. This time for me was even nicer, I mean it was AWESOME . I wasn't, let's say, "shocked" like the first time so I could relax much easily and had much more fun. Be aware they play Techno industrial at main room, and something more easy at SkyBar. So keep going upstairs if the techno is too much for you. The advice I would like to give is that at the Berghain you have more fun if you go there ALONE or in couple if you are very open minded , willing to let go and always keeping the respect of other people. Everything can happen at Berghain, but we must let it happen. Without forcing it. If you go in a group, split between the long queue at the entrance and mix up with each other, avoid talking and annoying at any time. Present yourself sober and calm, you will have 36 hours in front to have fun. Best time to go: Sunday afternoons, although there may be a lot of people in line. And do not worry, the club closes on Monday at noon. Have fun, be nice and respect your neighbor!

Classified as one of the best clubs in the world, we have tried to get in, unsuccessfully, twice.
Absolutely to try..at least the queue!
Creepy location, hundreds of people wearing black clothes standing for long time (hours?) under the rain without even talking..meanwhile AMAZING MUSIC and magnificent vibes came out!
I reserve the five stars when they let me get in! :D

One of the only places I've ever been to that truly lives up to the hype - however, it will only do so if you genuinely LOVE dancing and techno music. Can be difficult to get into but I've never had a problem.

It's an amazing place to do whatever the hell you want without feeling like you're going to be hit on by creeps. The surroundings may be dark but the atmosphere from the people is always so positive and liberating.

Best Sunday morning activity!

Utopia. Best parties ever
Berghain is a very special place and atmosphere inside on sunday is just phenomenal. Everybody is careless, friendly, playful and sexy. I would say 70% men 30% women inside (or I just remember it like this). I have been 6 times. I got rejected one time in the begining. I think to get in you have to understand what this club is about. It is not enough to google - wear all black- because everybody wears all black. It will not guarantee you to enter the club. It is very hard to get in I would say 20% pass the doormen 80% get rejected- mostly tourists (I am a female tourist) but it is not because of the skin colour or that you are a foreigner (very many different nationalities inside). It is because of the vibe. You just have to fit in. You have to be openminded, gay friendly and have fun. They somehow scan you and imidiately know if you gona have proper fun in Berghain or you just want to go inside to tick it on your-to-see-list. I cant wait my next time at Berghain. Btw- people giving this place one star because they didnt manage to get inside-it is ridicilous. Its probably you .. not the club!

always good
Been several times and it's always the best clubbing experience. There is a reason regular people aren't getting in, its cause you won't be able to handle what's happening inside and also people inside generally wouldn't be allowed in your poshy little clubs, or "up market straight" bars.
So those complaining about not getting in, thanks god, go somewhere else to cast your judgement and collect your "travel stories".
Music policy is the best going, they book acts way in advance of them breaking big, sound system in Berghain is epic and you can even have a milk-skake if you want. Crowd are inspirational to say the least.

best experience ever
if somehow you are in Berlin, you should definitely try. does not matter if you are a techno person or not, once you are in, the atmodphere and music of all place takes you away and you are a different person. remember that whatever happens in Berghain definitely stays in Berghain. there, time stops. getting in is not easy they say which is true. i and my girlfriend got in, it was our first time in Berghain and we are both old school rock and blues types and this was our first techno experience. throw your hesitations away, keep your excitement to yourself and wait in the queue really calm. they decide for you even before you get to the door, so, just stay calm and make sure your best night-out outfits rest in your wardrobe. it is a unique experience and worth every second you spend inside. good luck and remember, you are there to feel happy and in peace. you may not find somewhere else where everyone feels free and is friendly. try it!

We were waiting in the queue like 4 hours, and we didn't get in. But.. that makes Berghain the most interesting and wanting club. The fact that you can wait a hole day in the rain, and it's not sure that they will let you go.. We were really sad, because Berghain was the thing we went to Berlin.
Next time we will try again. Don't be sad if they don't let u in. Maybe It's not the right time for you.

It's not a club, it's an experience!! The crowd is very interesting the venue breathtaking, the music if you like techno you can stay at the main stage but there is always the choice of panorama with more electro and "happy" vibes. If you can get in ...please do!!! Cant wait to go back! Spend 12 hours in and I was quite sad that I had to leave because I got tired, only because I am a human : )

We didn’t think we were going to get in based on stories but once we were in we knew we belonged here.
The music was exactly what we were into, the bartenders were very nice. You can feel the music in your chest and it’s like nothing else in this world that I have experienced.
People who say it’s overrated obviously don’t appreciate the beauty in berghain.

Perfect for concerts or private parties. Unlike the big club next door, the staff at the entrance and inside is friendly and welcoming. I gave them my phone on arrival by reflex and they said no, they don't put stickers there to stop people from shooting photos. There's an outdoor area if you need fresh air.

Cute little venue. Went here for a concert. A bit hard to find the entrance even with Google maps but once you made it, you get rewarded. They have a cute beergarden and serve hot food  (burgers) and drinks outside the venue. Inside there is a bar. Venue stuff is very nice and goes out of their way if you just ask them for help.
