We wanted to share great food with two Swedish friends on our recent visit to Stockholm, and they chose f12. What a great choice!
The dining room is not all that interesting with its small number of tables. The service and food, however, are wonderful. Case in point re the service: When our group of four was seated, the server brought us all letters from the chef. When I commented to the other 3 about something on my menu, they didn't see it, and we realized we had different menus: 3 in Swedish and 1 in English. Somehow from the entrance to the table, they figured out that I was the only non-Swedish speaker in the group, though I hadn't spoken a word. Impressive to us, but maybe that wonderful class of wait staff could explain how they knew. They deferred, though I asked.
But I digress from the food, which was excellent. I'd like to walk you through our nine course menu -- the chef's choice for February -- (and could since I have notes), but think that would be excessive. One of the four of use couldn't eat seafood, but the substitutions, she reports, were great. Even the wine pairings worked well with them, she reports. Not always the case.
Just take it from me, this is an extremely good restaurant, worthy of a visit if you like fine dining.
