Paradiso is a great music venue. I have been to both the small, intimate upstairs room and bar and the main area. The building its self is beautiful with gorgeous stainglass windows and not too big. It's comparable to KOKO in London for the UK reader. A little smaller. Intimate is good and of course, Heineken is on tap.

The small upstairs bar was so small, i managed to make the band laugh with a comment and spent time with them afterwards. That reminded me of Camden Crawl and basically lead to a good night. This place has a great feel.

The larger room is great but not too big for the bigger bands so has a great feel. The acoustics are pretty good near the bar in the main room and you can move toward the front on the right hand side :) I have not been to a dance night here yet but intend to go very soon.

You have to pay to become a member of Paradiso to get into the event despite paying for your ticket and booking fee. I knew this due to paying the same for Paradiso a number of years ago but forgot all the same. It's 3 euros for a month's membership per person and 25 euros for the year - an excuse to get out and see more live music over the summer is not a bad thing!

Visited this venue for a Beirut concert. It really is, as good as it get's. It is a really beautiful venue. We were right in front of the stage. There were no crash barriers, so that we were really close to the artists. You can find everything you need directly in the venue. A big bar, clean toilets, lockers for your personal stuff and a smoking area in the first floor. Paradiso has three floors, in the upper two there are seats. In our case we were free to take place wherever we wanted to. It was not divided in categories, like it is almost everywhere in Germany these days.
The sound and was great. The PA and the lighting equipment in this venue is state of the art.

To sum it up: I highly recommend a visit when a band you like, is playing. We were really early there (20 mins before doors), why we had no problems with long queues. You have to buy a "membership" (for one month) for 3,50€ before you get in.

I hope I will soon have an opportunity to visit Amsterdam and the Paradiso again...

Went on a Thursday night had an amazing time. 6 beers were 16euros so pretty reasonable for a club. The space is huge and the layout is so dope. Most likely because it was an old church converted to a hall, but that definitely adds to it. The DJ played a lot of American music all types though, mostly top 40 and would put them to dance beats. I liked the DJ a lot.

Be careful though, people from there have this thing where they just throw things. So every second there's probably a cup being thrown near you, don't be alarmed but It was a little weird though lol.

We went to see the GoGo Penguin here in March. The venue had such a lovely vibe... I’m not sure if it was more the surroundings or the people. There aren’t many places like this in the UK this size but still have that intimate feel. The building has the appearance of an old church (excuse my ignorance that I don’t know the answer). There were 3 tiers. Lots of rooms and seats. Great set up for the bar with a great selection of drinks (not too expensive). And there was ample room. Not too crowded. And most importantly the sounds and acoustics were brilliant

We recently visited Amsterdam to see a concert at the Paradiso. What a great venue! Love the fact that they have several bars on multiple levels. Great acoustics and the lounge in the basement was a great afterparty. Beers were €2.80. Cant wait to see another great band here in the future!

Amazing venue
I came here to see Suede, both the band and the venue were outstanding. The acoustics were spot on and I felt the setting was just perfect.
I was a little annoyed at having to pay an extra €3.50 for a "membership" but I didn't let that detract from my experience on the night.
The venue is in a really good area for bars and restaurants as well so you can properly make a night of it.

Amazing venue with great atmosphere.
Attended The Revolution gig on 10th Feb. I have always wanted to attend -one of my fav live albums is Lenny Kravitz live in Amsterdam recorded here. Venue does not disappoint. I was standing in front row and the crowd are all around you. The above galleries add so much to the crowd experience. You are also right up against the stage -so the band experience is personal. Didn't use the bar or toilet facilities, but the venue itself is iconic. The stained glass windows directly behind the stage add to the vibe. Will def return as this is a great place to watch a band you love.

Great venue to see live bands
What an amazing building, steeped rich in history, Great Venue to see your favourite live music. Staff are helpful and friendly, bar staff are great, front of house staff are pleasant. Toilets are clean.
Have a walk around and see the main hall from all its levels, take a look at the windows, and revel in its interesting history.
Not to be missed.

Fantastic and valuable true gem right in the heart of Amsterdam. Renowned for both its intimacy and acoustics. A multitude of stars performed here. Do not hesitate and visit this venue when you have a chance. Highly, highly recommended.

One of the best smaller music venues I've ever been to. Over the last 20 seen so many great shows here, Pearl Jam, RHCP, counting crows, Live, walk of the earth to name a couple (and Vintage Trouble at the day of this review). It's beautiful and typically the sound is great.

My favourite venue in the city. Really makes you feel close to the artist, has great views from anywhere in the room, and there’s two mezzanines were you can sit and still be quite close to the stage. The drinks are also reasonably priced.

A great place to see your favourite artist!
It has a great line-up with local, and sometimes international, artists. It has a clothing storage and merchandising area of the artist.
The only thing is that it's small and the tickets are SOLD OUT quite quickly. So run and buy them online before they sell out.

Great venue, this is a picture of The Blue Stones in the small room upstairs. Good to get there early, because it sells out normally but a smaller venue where you're pretty close to the band.

Nice location, beautiful interior, always a good offer and great to either enjoy a concert or party. Also when you’re not a local or even when you’re a tourist. It’s always worth checking their agenda. See you soon, people!

Description

Built out of an 18th century church located in de Weteringschans near the Leidseplein and opened in 1968, Paradiso is one of Amsterdam's most well-known concert venues, with a large stage overlooked by two balconies and large glass church windows. Despite its origins as a concert venue, Paradiso is well-suited for DJ gigs, with the DJ situated at the centre of the dance floor and the perimetre of the venue dotted with bars. The venue is split into the 1500-capacity main hall and the 250-capacity small hall.
