It was our last night in Berlin, a Tuesday night. We had already been wandering around another part of the city when we decided to check out House of Weekend. It was close to midnight and the place was still pretty empty. The club didn't get packed until around 2am.

Overall a pretty good clubbing experience. There was no wait, no douche bouncers, but we did have to pay 10 euros to get in. The crowd was a mix of tourist and young partying locals.

Weekend has a reputation of being a great club, but I feel that the reputation is mostly hype. Besides the rooftop terrace (will go into this later) the club is tiny. Drinks and entry fee are very expensive for Berlin and the whole experience feels lack luster for the amount of hype and money revolving around the place.

The roof top terrace, which is only open when the weather permits, is amazing. The atmosphere up there is more lounge-like and it succeeds. Instead of being a club that is too small and too cramp, you have a nice spacious terrace where people can sit and talk with a DJ playing right next to the bar.

I will admit that the club has an amazing view of Alexanderplatz and that the club attracts many top DJs. The only thing is, if I had to chose between seeing a big DJ at Weekend or any other big club in Berlin, i would chose the latter. Weekend is too small, too expensive and the crowd there is just there because of the hype.

All in all, I would only come here if I was a big fan of the DJ and if the rooftop terrace was open.

I have been to Weekend a couple of times over the years and each time it was a quality evening -- great music and a crowd that likes to get down. The most impressive thing about the club is the view of the city, was here for New Year's one year and could definitely recommend that if you get a chance.

Music style seems to lean towards Techno old-faithful, but went to see Roland Dorfmeister there and he was throwing in a lot of really great techy-glitchy tracks that got the floor going. Drink prices are decent for a club that is so popular and the barstaff are quick on their toes.

Watch for some sleazy tourists while you are there, however, they can be a little aggressive. But, usually so drunk you can just wander away and they'll continue talking to the wall.

Racist staff, will not allow black people in. Aside from that, the music is pretty bad.. not a good representation of what partying in Berlin should look like

Really good bar and a great place to have your drinks there. We only stayed on the rooftop which was really nice. The music volume was ideal to dance and talk to each other comfortably. Of course the view is great and combined with the drinks it is a great option for a night out.

I think the club was a bit small and not so comfort as the rooftop. The prices were fair.

The rooftop: elegant and chic, however windy and not heated. Mostly VIP seating with a few standing tables.
The club: small, odd music and not of high quality.
The drinks: expensive (but that's not exclusive to HoW), not mixed well (ingredients and style)
The staff: unfriendly, not helpful.
Nice concept, but feels unfinished and only good for one drink on the rooftop. Hope that the redesign changes a couple of other things too!

We had our company party at The Weekend last Friday and it was simply brilliant. Philip and his team were amazing from the start and always happy to adapt to our plans. They certainly wanted us to have a great night.
The location itself is stunning and the views from the rooftop all over Berlin and of course right next to the famous Fernsehturm were great and made for an awesome team photo! :-)
I can only recommend this place!!

Nice rooftop location on a sunny summer day/evening. Went there on a “dance into Mai” event with a hip hop theme and was positively surprised by both the location and the cool atmosphere. Can’t really say that there was anything I didn’t like. Maybe the rooftops dance-floor is a bit small but other than that its an overall good rooftop location if not the best I’ve been so far in Berlin.

It is not a renowned club like Berghain or Watergate, anyway I've been there two times, so I'had the chance to see both side of the club: inner club area, and the rooftop. 10/10.
Dancing above the sleeping Berlin is something indescribable, and having the chance to have an aperitif watching the skyline of the city at sunset is one of the things you have to do at least once in your life.

Description

At the House of Weekend, you can celebrate directly at Alexanderplatz above the rooftops of Berlin. In the former House of Travel, the club is spread over two floors. On the 15th floor the basses of house, techno and electro-music will be booming from 11 p. m. On and international DJs will be playing the best sounds. There is a small indoor floor and in the summer, DJs also play on the roof terrace. On the roof terrace, you can enjoy the view over Berlin and have a free outlook of the TV tower. With an entrance fee of 15 Euros, the club is quite expensive but the wonderful view and the music are worth it. The audience is usually mixed, from festive tourists in their 20s to original Berliners, who come to the after-work party; everything is there. Most of the time the DJs play Deep House.
