Good rock club. Tough the entrance straff was grumpy as hell. Hope they cheer up until I go there next time. Good club for smaller rock concerts. Had a blast on the concert with Shiraz Lane.

Absolutely love this place. It has to have one of the best sound systems I have heard. Great place for any gig.!!!

With a bunch of Apo fans, we had the chance for a meet and greet and watch the concert from the first rows.

Although the place doesn't look 'neat' because of all the graffiti and old furniture, this places breathes rock 'n' roll.

Queuing when doors opened didn't take too long, bar had several and still a wide range of drinks. Clothes can be left at the cloak room for 3€ per person. Although the concert was sold put (600-700 pers,?), I did manage to visit the toilet in the middle of the concert and return back to the second row... which gives am indication on how a friendly atmosphere there was and space to move around.

The concert itself ? Great of course as the music and lights were perfect. As the stage ia not separated from the public, you feel like you are in the middle of the adventure.

I went to see Andrea Brosio from The Voice of Finland and Michael Monroe.
It a "small" concert area with a great sound and very nice atmosphere.
There are 3 bars and also a restaurant but the access is from the street.

I had the opportunity to visit the backstage. It was amazing to see the walls covered of signatures. This place is a legend.

I've been to this club plenty of times.  When I visited Helsinki i spent the last 3 days of the year hear listening to my favorite band in the days of Helldone Festival. I rang in the new year here with great friends and my favorite band,  doesn't get any better than that.

Staff is nice
There is an upstairs bar and 2 downstairs bars.
They do have a coat check that if I remember correctly is about 2 or 3 euros.
It's a pretty small venue/club so for the most part you have a great view of whoever you are seeing.
Which is also the biggest downfall, it's crazy hot in there when it's that packed. During new years eve we felt like sardines.
Once the front door opens you are walked in to show your ticket, then check in your coat then you are allowed to the area where the bar is at. There are two other large doors that lead to the actual club, but depending on the event they could be open or closed. Upstairs is usually VIP, which is great because you can sit and chill upstairs with the bar up there.

This is a staple in Helsinki when you are here and want to experience the awesomeness of Finnish music.

Have fun!
Happy yelping my amigos

Tavastia is the number one rock club in Helsinki. The club was built in the 1930s and is located right next to Kamppi Kauppakeskus. Almost every night bands from Finland and abroad play here.

Over the years Finland's biggest bands such as HIM, Hanoi Rocks, PMMP, The Rasmus, Von Hertzen Brothers, The 69 Eyes, Nightwishas well as international several international stars like Nick Cave, Hurriganes and Gary Clark Jr. have rocked Tavastia's stage.

With a capacity of just around 700 people manages to give gigs even with big stars an intimate atmosphere. So if you have the chance to see any of your big idols performing here don't miss the chance to see them.

Plain and simple, valued alike by punters and performers, Tavastia-klubi is The rock venue in Europe.

One of Europe's oldest rock music clubs, it is owned by a Helsinki University fraternity but leased to a private music operator. In the 80s it achieved legendary status featuring local as well as international performers. Be forewarned, starting times don't mean what they say. An 8:00 p.m. starting time means doors will open then followed by the opening act at 10:00 and the main act at 11:00.

A nice, small and kinda intimate place to enjoy a gig! Sound system is pretty good, drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great. Air ventilation could be better as it got a bit hot in there and as expected, queues to get the jackets after the gig were long but with the right mood it's all okay.

Best place for live music in Helsinki. Hands down. Great acoustics. The venue has been hosting some of the greatest artists known to man, since 1970. You can feel the history in the walls, in this place.

When I visited Helsinki, I knew that I had to go to the legendary Tavastia. The venue is known for hosting local bands and amazing shows. We had a great time, the acoustics is perfect (really high quality sound for a small venue) and the place is really nice. Prices for drinks are medium-high (like everywhere else in Helsinki). Absolutely recommended to those who want to spend a fun, alternative night in the city.

One of the most legendary rock clubs in Helsinki. All the best bands come here or Nosturi (RIP). Awesome sound, great place. Shame about the €9 beers, tho
