Studio 338 is a great venue, I had been meaning to visit it for ages and finally got the chance in early April.
Firstly, the decoration, size and facilities were great. There were a lot of people, yes, but it didn't feel too tightly packed even though the club night was sold out. When you visit you do have to bare in mind that this is a very high capacity club, there were a few thousand people there, but if you know that beforehand it isn't a shock and you know what to expect. The club also has lots of different sections so if you're feeling a bit claustrophobic you can just move to another part that is a bit less packed.
A bizarre thing to mention, but the toilets were really clean. I have been to so many clubs where it is terrifying to even try and go in - girls, you know what I mean.
The music was fantastic, the crowd were really friendly, didn't feel any aggro from fellow clubbers.
I think the quality of your night depends a lot on the night running, but the club itself isn't necessarily responsible for that if it has been hired by a club night. Do your research beforehand and see what kind of music/theme you're getting yourself in for and you save yourself disappointment. A lot of the nights also offer online ticket purchase so you know exactly how much you're paying to get in and aren't up for any nasty surprises.
Do your planning and you could have an amazing night at Studio338!

Having read all the reviews I was very worried about actually gaining entry to the venue, especially as I was attending the event with a total of 18 males. We thought we'd have problems but in fact we had no problems at all. We found the security inside and outside very friendly, and being polite back doesn't cost anything at all.
The search and pat down you get from the door staff was no different to anywhere else I had attended. I was told to empty my pockets, patted down and then had the metal detector treatment, nothing odd or excessive there.....I certainly didn't have my balls grabbed.
With it being NYE it was very packed and hot inside the actual club, but we expected this, but there was a very big outside area where you could sit and relax if you needed a break. There were 3000 people in the venue but I never waited more than 5 minutes to get a drink at the bar.
Queues for the toilet weren't that long either, unless you were waiting for a cubicle.
Drinks prices were a little expensive but its London, what do you expect. I paid £24 for 2x double vodka and coke each time due to their being a £20 minimum card payment. That didn't really bother me, its NYE so I was prepared to spank my card.
All in all I found this venue and the event brilliant, the best NYE party i've attended.

As a rave goer for two decades I got kinda worried reading these reviews when organising a night out with my friends. But Pete Tong was headlining and I’ve wanted to see him live for years.
Gotta say my experience of the night was great! Sure the staff were strict, but so long as you ain’t difficult they are absolutely lovely. Especially to the New Yorker on the front door and the Medic who were super great! When we did need a hand they were right there. They also went above and beyond helping me track down one of our lost party member and I’m really thankful of their help.
The venue itself is amazing, the vibe in there was so great and I absolutely loved it. Only criticism was the one toilet facilities which essentially means the ladies had to qeue all the time but literally that’s the only bad thing I can say.
Thank you Studio 338 staff for making my first visit to the venue such a great night. I’ll defiantly be coming back!

Had to wait over an hour in the rain just to get into the club. Good music but so busy to the point at the end people were getting pushed trying to get out as well as getting hurt. Wouldn’t recommend.

Waited 45 minutes for a overpriced drink, too much security pushing you aside.

Ridiculous Security Staff
First time I attended this venue 06.04.19 - Needless to say I was extremely upset & embarrassed to have been denied entry whilst wearing my 'Toolroom' label limited edition t-shirt for a TOOLROOM label event with no dress code. Having debated this with him naturally, he refused to let me in so had to go back to hotel & change - I considered not even bothering going back but I did not want to let him in. After going back the same guy let me in and didn't even notice it was me - which leads me to believe from the onset he wasn't letting me in - assuming as a laugh with his idiotic security staff. The behavior of the staff worsened as I got further through the security procedures - literally hardly muttering a word it was truly the most uncomfortable start to an event I have ever had, and I have been to many. Horrible place - would need to be paid to go again

Good night but over priced
Had such an amazing night. No queue. There was a thorough search when going into the club but always makes you feel safer knowing they search everyone thoroughly. Really quick service at the bar however did get a little surprise when i ordered 2 double vodka & redbulls & 2 jäger bombs which cost £49 so changed drinks ASAP & defo didn’t have anymore shots. would have been 5* if the drink prices wasn’t so expensive. Will go back but will make sure I have plenty of predrinks first.

Security were way too much. Bouncer accused me of having drugs when in fact it was my ballbag he was prodding, only when I pushed my other testicle forward did him and another bouncer agree that it was actually my balls and that I didn’t need to be strip searched. Set a bad tone for the night to say the least

Hospitality was Quality
Vibes, tunes and production were fantastic at Hospitality Xmas Special. No issues at all, warm and friendly crowd from what you would expect at a decent Drum N Bass event. Outside area was impressive with gas burners, food vans smashing out pulled pork and Brisket as well as a big outside bar. Everyone having a great time.

Downsides were the queues to the toilets and people standing on the walkways from room 2 into room 1 which caused bottlenecks. Unfortunately a friend was kicked out around 3.30am for absolutely no reason whilst walking to the bar, no explanation was given he was just picked up and carted outside which put a dampener on a banging night. Surprised to see so many reviews here about people being kicked out, seems to be a re-occurring theme. Wasn't such a need for a security prescience on the dance floor as well. Minimum spend of 20 quid on card as well is just ridiculous.

Great super club near the o2 Greenwich. Remember to take ID as you won't get in otherwise. Lighting and sound first class and the outside area is great to have. Bars have a good selection of drinks but be aware there is a £20 minimum on cards so take cash (or get cash out there using the machine near the entrance but it does charge for this) unless you are buying rounds. Great venue and can imagine it's even better during the summer months when they can use the outside area more.

When in London the bar is set very high compared to other event venues, and somehow it seems Studio 338 doesn't quite make the mark. For a purpose-built venue, the crowd traffic is disappointingly dreadful, only one single staircase to get to the main dance area which of course is always flooded with people as it's a good viewpoint there. Next £20.00 minimum bar spend on card (who uses cash on a night out in 2019), now I can only view this as a profit-making scheme for the venue, I would have accepted £10 as a minimum but beyond that starts to make your clients feel as though you're trying to pocket as much as you can from them, I could go further but you get the point. Don't let this put you off from going and making your own mind up, however with the likes of Printworks just around the corner, this place doesn't even come close. Shame.

One of the best house music clubs in London. All the big names pass through there. Security is tight especially on blacks. Metal detectors and airport style checks. Don't be surprised if they make you take your shoes off. Once your in though it's an amazing club with some of the best promotions.

This was my third experience going to a reggae music festival.. the music side of this was inside.. very different to my first which I attended with my gorgeous talented uncomplicated and generous daughter and also the same as my second where everything was held outside . My dislike was I thought the price of the small bottles of water was really over priced.. But nevertheless I fulljoyed it. Because it was a gift from my daughter so to me it was a privilege, a very special moment in OUR history which I will always remember !!!

We've been to this place many times before and we love in there, but this week it was exceptional! Normally we interact with the people in the bar who are absolutely great. Fantastic customer service . This time, with the covid rules, people are not allowed to dance or mix with people outside with our area. Security guys were very polite controlling the crowd what must be a hard job. My friend felt sick and security team helped him to the medic. They were patient, polite and very respectful. Big praise for them. And a massive shout out to the girl medic who looked after him. She was absolutely kind, understanding and made us fell safe and welcome even in a hard time. Can't recommend Studio 338 enough. Going back as soon as we can!

Description

Proving that Greenwich can rave just as hard as the rest of London is Studio 338, a sprawling club that combines the best elements of underground industrial venues with slicker super-club vibes. So whereas the nearby O2 is happy to flex its credentials as a location for arena rock and stadium dance acts, Studio 338's multi-million pound refurb turned it into a far, far hipper destination, attracting dedicated dancers from across London and beyond. World-class house and techno DJs – from the underground side of things – regularly spin sets at S338 (think along the lines of Kevin Saunderson and Marc 'MK' Kinchen) at nights like Half Baked, Cirque Du Soul and the parties form Manchester clubbing institution Sankeys (hosted exclusively at the Greenwich venue), and another big draw is the all-night terrace, allowing punters to do a bit of alfresco raving even in the unlikely event of rain appearing in London: the terrace is covered, of course. Luckily, the inside of the club is just as appealing, leaning towrads the industrial but colourful vibe beloved of many of Berlin's top nightspots.
