Reading the previous reviews on how people were treated, I was extremely apprehensive. My wife stayed positive and said we would be fine. I thought I was about to get thrown out Fresh Prince of Bel Air Jazzy Jeff style.

I was wrong.

Terribly wrong.

We were on line for maybe 10 minutes tops. They had the option of pre-ordering tickets but we learned you can pay for your entrance with cash or card. After kicking out the people in front of us off the line, which had me tense, they Chanted New York and let us in. Everybody that worked there were extremely nice and the music was jumping!!!

They were playing deep house music nonstop. Our favorite!!

One thing to note: the place is a very young crowd and if you want to really let loose and dance, good luck. The place was packed. Could barely get into my groove, but all in all we had a great time!

I would suggest getting there early. In between 12 and 1am. Any later and you'll be on the line we saw forming ad we were leaving.

Cheap entry, good beats, expensive drinks
I went with a few friends on the 2nd of March where we paid 8€ entry and 2€ for the cloak room which was very good for a club in Paris.
Music played is all TECHNO, no lyrics just good beats and rhythms so don't go expecting popular music you can sing to. One of those cool places but if you don't like techno its not worth it.
The drinks were expensive but lots of places in Paris are... We stuck to 5€ tequila shots which was great for us.
Also the club doesn't close till 6am which is perfect to then leave and get the metro back home without spending a fortune on taxis!!

I have enjoyed the music which was hard electronic music but the people with whom i went did not. The entry was reasonably priced (only 10 Euro) and it is opened till 6 am on Thursdeay. I loved the music and the vibe but my friends decided to go to nearby Irish pub so i had to stick with them.

By far the worst club i‘ve ever seen. The atmosphere is uncomfortable and the staff is unfriendly. I was there for New Years - - - and I cannot recommend!

Can’t complain
We decided to go to Rex after seeing it being honoured as the best club in Paris after a quick google search. Entry was cheap, the venue was quite basic (little lighting and overall set up by the decks), I thought the techno was okay but quite basic (this probably varies by night), drinks weren’t quite as much as in some of the other clubs we went to in Paris. Overall we had a good time and you can’t complain when paying €8, however definitely not ‘the best club in Paris’. Although it was a thursday so it probably wasn’t as busy as it could of been.

Fantastic!!
Definitely one of THE places to go if you're looking for quality techno in Paris. Although some seem to have a bit of a hard time getting in or enjoying themselves. I can only speak for myself and never encountered such issues :D

Quite poor for the best Paris club (or at least that's what they say)
Not even sure where to start. I had quite high hopes for this establishment however it's not really great. Or at least the night we were there wasn't great. Crowd - mainly teenagers, Music - weird mix house to rnd to dub step to house again. It's also quite expensive 15EUR to get in, 8 EUR for a small bottle of beer. Not really sure, felt quite hectic wouldn't recommend going there if to be honest. There are some better clubs out there, trust me, just keep walking the riverside... !

What shocking service. We did not even get it. When at the front of the line they ask me and two of my friends....."Do you have any ladies with you"? Of course we did not and has we are foreigners in town. Due to us not having any ladies we were not allowed in. Why!!!!!!!!! We spend thousands of euros in Paris and not allowed in your club because we had no ladies......shocking. Will make it public and let everyone know not to visit Rex Club. Useless bouncers only wanting ladies to enter.

The club itself isn't bad but the music was TERRIBLE. The DJ played the same beat for two hours until the crowd started screaming at him to change the music! Of all the techno out there, why would you DJ the same song for two hours? It got a little better after that but he needs to learn theres house, dub, trance, etc. and he's allowed to use them.... they need better music. A lot of people agreed how boring it was.

The gay guy workig near the washrooms needs to chill. I don't think he realises not everyone's gay. The night was awesome and the music was good the only issue was having to avoid the washrooms becasue I wasn't trying to be kissed and groped by some guy.

Visited from Australia and really loved how open and inclusive this club felt! Ages 18-50 having an awesome time on the dance floor.

Drinks are pricey. 11 euro for a big beer.

Security are absolute ninjas! Be careful of taking anything out in the open areas. You’ll likely get caught. :)

Great club, amazing soundsystem and a nice lights setup, the only flaw I noticed is the smoker's rooms which is just a hallway to the emergy exit, which is not big enough for the big events that happen in the club, but otherwise is a very fun place to go dance.

One of the best clubs here in Paris. Sound is great, the crowd is also good. It's good to buy tickets in advance to avoid queues at the entrance.

Description

Started by Laurent Garnier in 1992, Paris' Rex Club is one of the city's oldest and longest-running spots for techno and house parties. With a fully lit stage, walls lined with booths and seating, and a dance floor that stretches all the way to the bar, Rex Club offers plenty of options for clubbers. As it happens, the Rex Club is attached to one of the most famous cinemas in Paris, the Grand Rex, which helps draw the crowds in while boasting an impressively packed program of performances. The venue is particularly popular with international travellers looking to meet new people and party hard, so be prepared for a whirlwind evening.
